Join the SkyCare Repatriation Flight Crew

SkyCare Repatriation, based at London Biggin Hill Airport, provides air ambulance and international medical repatriation services. We operate a Pilatus PC-12 NGX aircraft across Europe, supporting unwell patients who have become poorly far from home.

Whether we’re bringing someone safely back to the UK or transferring a VIP client from Monaco to Milan, our work is meaningful, time-sensitive, and includes babies, children, and adults alike. No two days are the same — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Our crew aren’t just pilots — you become part of our family. We support each other just as much as we support our patients.

Role Description

We’re looking for experienced Pilatus PC-12 NGX-rated First Officers to join our specialist repatriation flight team. This is a full-time, London-based position, with operations often launched at short notice to various European destinations — some of which may involve an overnight stay (and the occasional dodgy hotel pillow).

You’ll work alongside our incredible Flight Doctors, Nurses, Paramedics, and Operations team to deliver safe, compassionate air transport for patients and their loved ones. Quick thinking, clear communication, and a sense of humour under pressure are essential — especially when the coffee machine breaks mid-shift.

What We’re Looking For

    • UK CAA-issued CPL(A) with ATPL Theory completed, or an appropriately validated ICAO equivalent
    • Valid Class 1 Medical Certificate
    • Valid Single Pilot and Multi Pilot Class/Type Rating with current LPC and Instrument Rating (IR)
    • A minimum of 500 hours total flying time
    • London-based (or within 60 minutes of Biggin Hill Airport)
    • Willing and able to operate a flexible roster, including short-notice missions when required
    • A calm, adaptable team player with excellent situational awareness and problem-solving skills
    • Fluent in English, both spoken and written — clarity and precision are essential
    • Full, valid UK driving licence
    • Ability to pass all relevant airport security and background checks
    • No restrictions on international travel or obtaining visas for operational duties
    • Flexibility to work a 7-on / 7-off rotation, with the ability to pick up additional duty days if FTLs permit
    • A professional, caring approach with confidence when communicating with crew, clients, and clinical teams

    Package

    • Basic – £40,000
    • Plus Flight Pay
    • Company Pension Scheme
    • Training Provided subject to Training Fees Agreement

    Your Responsibilities – First Officer

As a SkyCare First Officer, you’ll support the Captain in operating our air ambulance missions safely, efficiently, and with compassion. You’ll be an essential part of a highly skilled team delivering urgent care across Europe. Your responsibilities will include:

    • Assisting the Captain with flight planning and preparation, including reviewing weather, NOTAMs, and operational documentation
    • Cross-checking and verifying flight details provided by our Operations Centre
    • Ensuring compliance with UK CAA regulations, international aviation laws, and internal procedures
    • Conducting thorough pre-flight inspections and ensuring the aircraft is clean, well-presented, and mission-ready
    • Obtaining IFR clearances and assisting with aircraft loading, including baggage and medical equipment
    • Delivering a professional, discreet, and supportive experience for patients, families, and medical personnel onboard
    • Maintaining proficiency in both IFR and VFR operations, often into complex or unfamiliar airfields
    • Actively contributing to a culture of safety, teamwork, and flexibility — SkyCare is a close-knit, hands-on crew

    Why SkyCare?

    • Fly meaningful missions that genuinely make a difference
    • Base yourself at London Biggin Hill Airport – fast, efficient, and well-connected
    • Enjoy ongoing training and support – we keep our pilots sharp, safe, and certified
    • Receive a competitive package with regular simulator training
    • Gain stories worth telling (and coffee that’s occasionally hot!)
