SkyCare is able to transfer patients with infectious diseases, suspected contagious conditions, and those undergoing aerosol generating procedures (AGPs). We have specific equipment and protocols in place to isolate and manage patients enabling us to provide infectious patient transfers, by road and air, across the UK and Europe.

Infectious patients will be separated from the surrounding environment using our CAPSULS Patient Isolation Unit (PIU). The unit serves as a protective measure, minimising the need for extensive disinfection and decontamination following the transportation of infectious patients.

Our patient isolation unit is compatible with our aircraft and all our HDU ambulances, and all staff are trained in its use, and in the safe management of patients undergoing aerosol generating procedures.
