Flight Coordinator
Job Description
This is an opportunity to assist in the coordination of the SkyCare clinical service by answering enquiries, preparing quotations, coordinating missions and assisting with any tasks required to maintain the SkyCare service.
This position has the potential to develop into a role that includes a high degree of autonomy in specifying the clinical team and operational plan for a commercial medical escort or air ambulance mission under the ultimate supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO).
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Answering telephone calls and emails
- Preparing quotes on the SkyCare electronic platforms
- Completing mission plan proformas
- Finding medical crew using WhatsApp
- Liaising with insurance and medical assistance companies
- Answering questions from patient’s relatives and friends
- Restocking and checking medical bags, managing stock room
- Filling the aircraft oxygen
- Preparing and cleaning the aircraft
- Scanning and preparing paperwork post-mission for the governance process
- Driving ground ambulances (where within scope and driving experience/license)
As the role develops further, opportunity to:
- Assist with the day to day running of the team
- Helping run training/induction weekends
- Training and mentoring new staff
- Writing guidelines and SOPs
Location
This role will usually be carried out at the SkyCare offices at London Biggin Hill airport so that you can maintain team readiness with clinical bags, equipment and aircraft when there are no enquiries to be dealt with.
Contract, hours and pay
Salary range: £ 40,000 – 50,000 depending on qualifications and experience
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Rota: Full shift rota 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm
Annual leave: 28 days per year including bank holidays
Sick leave: statutory
Maternity / paternity leave: statutory
Pension: NEST pension scheme
This role does not attract a London Weighting.
Training and Support
Training and support will be provided by Ben Geraghty and Lee Collier for a period of several weeks. Following the completion of training Lee Collier will be your line manager.
