Our mission is to bring patients home safely, compassionately and with the right clinical support for their journey.

Medical repatriation is rarely just a transport problem. It involves clinical judgement, hospital liaison, logistics, family communication and careful planning across different healthcare systems and countries. SkyCare exists to bring those elements together and make difficult journeys safer and easier to manage.

Clinical Decisions Come First

We believe the transport plan should be based on what the patient actually needs. That may mean a dedicated air ambulance, a commercial medical escort, a stretcher flight or a road ambulance.

Our role is to review the available medical information, understand the journey and recommend the safest and most appropriate option. We do not believe the most expensive solution is automatically the best one.

Delivered In-House Wherever Possible

SkyCare’s strength is the medical and operational team behind each mission. We provide our own clinicians and operate our own road ambulance fleet, with medical planning and case coordination handled directly by our team.

When specialist aviation capacity is required, we work with appropriately certificated aviation operators. If an external aviation or specialist partner is involved in a mission, we are open about that with the customer. The important point for the patient and family is that SkyCare remains responsible for coordinating the medical journey and making sure the clinical requirements are understood throughout.

Bed-to-Bed Means the Whole Journey

Our responsibility does not begin at the aircraft door and end at the airport. Where required, we coordinate the sending hospital, ground ambulance collection, airport handling, medical transport, receiving hospital or home destination and final clinical handover.

That continuity matters. A technically successful flight is not enough if the patient is left waiting for transport, the receiving team is not expecting them, or important medical information has not travelled with the case.

Professional partnership: we work with hospitals, insurers, assistance companies, embassies and other healthcare organisations in a practical, respectful and collaborative way.

Governance, Feedback and Continuous Improvement

SkyCare is registered with the Care Quality Commission. We maintain clinical governance, staff training, equipment standards and operational procedures appropriate to the services we provide.

We also believe good services improve by listening. Patients, families and professional partners can use our compliments, feedback and complaints process to tell us what worked well and where we can do better.

Our Promise

We cannot make every situation simple, and we will not promise that every patient can be moved immediately. What we can promise is honest advice, careful clinical planning, clear communication and a team focused on getting the patient to the right destination as safely as possible.
